개인정보 처리방침

Last updated June 15, 2026 · This English version is the authoritative version across all languages.

This Privacy Policy explains how LabsMatrix Limited (“Classp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company based in Hong Kong, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use Classp (the “Service”).

Classp helps students record, transcribe, translate, summarize, and review their lectures. Because the Service processes audio and study materials, we want to be clear about what we collect and why. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

LabsMatrix Limited is responsible for your personal information under this Policy. You can contact us about privacy at support@classp.ai. This Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your email address, username, and profile photo. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google or X (Twitter), we receive basic profile information from that provider. Authentication is managed through our identity partner, Clerk.
  • Lecture audio. Audio you capture through your device microphone during a session, which is processed to produce a transcript.
  • Transcripts and summaries. Real-time and cleaned-up transcripts, AI-generated summaries, and translations created from your sessions.
  • Uploaded materials. Lecture files you upload (such as PDF, PowerPoint, or Word documents), which we convert and store to power features like Ask AI.
  • Ask AI conversations. The questions you ask and the answers generated, during and after class.
  • Study tools. Mindmaps, quizzes, flashcards, and infographics you generate, and their history.
  • Usage data. How you use the Service, including transcription time, feature usage counts, active usage periods, and usage snapshots used to enforce plan limits, prepare eligible upgrade quotes, and improve the Service.
  • Preferences. Settings such as your major(s), source and translation languages, course folders, interface language, and theme.
  • Payment and subscription data. Your plan, subscription status, billing history, checkout and upgrade quote details, invoice and payment status, account balance credits, and billing portal activity. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full payment card numbers.
  • Referral data. Invitation links, sign-ups, and rewards associated with the referral program.
  • Device and log data. Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies, collected automatically when you use the Service, including through third-party analytics and error-monitoring tools.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Service — including transcription, translation, summaries, Ask AI, and study tools.
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, eligible upgrade quotes, billing portal requests, and referral rewards.
  • Enforce usage limits, calculate subscription upgrade credits where available, sync billing status, and detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service and develop new features.
  • Communicate with you about your account, important changes, and (where you have not opted out) product updates.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. AI and model training

We use AI providers to process your content and deliver features such as transcription, translation, summaries, and study tools. We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train our own AI models, and we use these providers under terms that do not permit your content to be used to train their models. Your content is processed only to provide the Service to you.

5. Why we are allowed to process your information

We process your information to provide the Service you ask for, with your consent where it is needed (for example, microphone access and non-essential cookies), to keep the Service secure and working, and to meet our legal obligations. Where local law requires a specific legal basis for processing, we rely on the basis that applies.

6. Third-party service providers

We share personal information with trusted providers who process it on our behalf and under contract, only as needed to operate the Service:

  • OpenAI. Processes lecture audio and text to provide transcription, smart transcription, translation, summaries, Ask AI, and study tools.
  • Google (Gemini). Generates infographic study materials from transcript and summary text.
  • Stripe. Processes payments and manages subscriptions, invoices, account balance credits, payment status, billing portal sessions, and billing history.
  • Clerk. Provides user authentication and account management.
  • Vercel. Hosts and serves the application.
  • Neon. Provides the database that stores your account data and content.
  • Svix. Verifies authentication webhook events between Clerk and our systems.
  • Analytics and error monitoring. Third-party tools that help us understand how the Service is used and detect and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

7. Data storage and international transfers

Your information is stored and processed in the regions where we and our service providers operate. Our primary infrastructure is hosted on servers in the United States (via Amazon Web Services), and some providers may process your information in other countries. This may involve transferring your information across borders, including to countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.

Where required by applicable law, we put appropriate safeguards in place for international transfers to protect your information consistent with this Policy.

8. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or specific content, we permanently delete the associated data within 30 days, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the rights below. Many of these can be exercised directly in Settings; for others, contact us at support@classp.ai.

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Update or correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion. Delete your account and associated data.
  • Portability. Receive certain information in a portable format.
  • Objection and restriction. Object to or ask us to limit certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent. Withdraw consent (such as cookie preferences) at any time, without affecting prior processing.

Where local law gives you additional rights over your personal information, contact us at support@classp.ai and we will respond as required by applicable law.

10. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. We distinguish between essential cookies, which are needed for the Service to work, and non-essential cookies, which we use only with your consent.

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through our consent banner and change your choice at any time in Settings. Where local law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

11. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@classp.ai and we will delete it.

12. Data security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and working with reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.

13. Data breach notification

If a data breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will investigate and take appropriate steps to address it. Where required by applicable law, we will notify the relevant authorities and affected users.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will notify you by email or through the Service and update the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
